5km AquaPaddles

We have launched some new activities at Whoosh Explore to encourage greater community paddling at the club, developing our activities for paddlers looking to get into the sport and use the club for fitness on the water whilst assisting with helping raise awareness for charity.

Our AquaPaddles are a 5K paddles from our base where we run an event for local paddlers at either Whoosh Explores base in Sawbridgeworth or at Lee Valley White Water centre on the River Lee which will be time trials for paddleboarding canoeing and kayaking which will run about once a month from our base.

The aim of these Aquapaddles is to get out on the water for a paddling equivalent of Parkrun but using boats

WHAT IS AQUAPADDLE?

AquaPaddle, the free, volunteer-led 5km paddle event held regularly at locations across the UK.

Think of it like a social paddling challenge, not a race. You paddle at your own pace, we track your time, and you enjoy being on the water with other paddlers.

Everyone is welcome, from novice paddlers wanting to stretch themselves to experienced water sports enthusiasts.

Events usually take place on Sunday mornings, creating a relaxed and social start to the day.

AquaPaddle Mission Statemenr

To build a community of likeminded paddlers wanting to share the benefits of water-passed paddle sports, and to both improve their physical and mental health, as well as support equal access to those who would not usually engage with our waterways, whether that be through financial or physical reasons. To promote the safe upkeeping and nurturing of our natural waterways to ensure they remain a safe, healthy, and free resources for generations to come.
