Whoosh Explore Canoe Club is a community paddling club for a paddlers, families and friends. 

Our location

We are based at Kecksys Marina in Sawbridgeworth CM219BZ

Whoosh Explore Canoe Club provide a club environment for new paddlers to learn to paddle together. We offer groups and individuals the opportunity to learn via fun new skills to explore local rivers using a great boats and equipment and

We deliver taster sessions, pub paddles, kayaking tours, canoe/kayak rentals and Paddleboard Adventures on rivers across the UK.

Our Boats and Equipment

We run a fleet of  Kayaks canoes and paddleboards and as our community of paddlers has developed skills grow, introduce paddlers to more adventurous white water skills and techniques on our trips, and adventures.

We have a comprehensive range of  kayaks, canoes and Stand Up Paddleboards sessions for exploring the river.

Micro Adventures

A spirit of adventure has always been at the heart of our paddling, we have canoes and kayaks for running expeditions away from the club base and regularly head off to explore new rivers and challenges, expeditions and white water.

We are a club made up of paddlers looking for adventure Trips regularly include white water coaching in Wales with trips to the Lake district, as well as trips to Dartmoor Scotland  regularly planned as part of our padding experiences

Each year we plan for paddle adventures and past trips have included wild camping on the River Tweed, River Tay and Spey in Scotland, white water paddling in Southern France and weekend trips on the Rivers Dart and Walkern in Devon. Join us on a micro adventure with a chance to paddle and get away either with a wild camp or weekend paddle adventures .

Paddle Sport Training & Qualifications

Our members have a wealth of paddling experience, keen to share paddling knowledge and specialist experience and hold NGB qualifications in core skills and coaching. We offer a wider choice of paddling sessions and skills including pool sessions and safety training for club members which insures paddlers are safe on the river. 

Coaching and Instruction

Our coaching team are made up of active white water paddlers with specialist skills and qualifications in paddle sport coaching, safety and rescue, We have instructors in paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking  as well as links to local Sports and stadium leaders, allowing us to deliver high quality coaching within a club environment whatever standard of paddler you are.



Specialist Events

Try out the latest paddling kit and head off on expeditions to white water. Develop skills and qualifications in paddle sport coaching and having fun as a paddling team.We have Aqua Paddles, Taster sessions and regular trips and training sessions.

Environment

We are passionate about improving the local paddling environment for all to enjoy, this may be removing fishing line from trees or collecting discarded drinks bottles that occasional find there way into our local paddling water we run sessions to remove floating pennywort and our club received  recognition of being environmental club member of the year in recent Canals and River Trust nominations.



Trips Abroad

Over the years our trips have become skilled at delivering more adventurous Whitewater trips for families and friends to France. We run trips to experience different rivers with our trailers full of boats and paddling equipment for regular tours to popular paddling spots including trips to the Alps and the Pyrenees.

Paddling is all about having adventures

We have run paddling trips to Central Massiff in France for our kids first French paddling adventure on moving water with paddle trips in open boats and kayaks on the Ardeche, Cheezac and River Orb as well as coastal paddle boarding and beach adventures to discover new paddling venues and we look forward to heading back to the Ardeche soon.

As a club we are proud to develop all of our paddlers and work with young people to develop instructor skills. This can help them qualifications like GCSE PE and BTEC qualifications and UCAS points for university course applications.

Our autumn sessions often include bush craft training, canoe poling and exploring the lakes and rivers as well as adventure for our coaching team in Wales , where we work alongside other professional paddle sport coaches to develop new skills.
